They may not start as early as Hallmark, but there is a full schedule of Lifetime Christmas Movies 2021. This year's lineup of movies includes star studded casts. From Mario Lopez, Smokey Robinson, Reba McEntire, and Melissa Joan Hart. There is a diverse and wide range of actors getting into the holiday spirit on Lifetime.
Schedule for Lifetime Christmas Movies 2021
Here's a look at the complete list of Christmas Movies scheduled this year. Where Hallmark likes to start it's holiday season before Halloween, Lifetime chooses to wait until the middle of November. But even though they kick-off the season a little later than Hallmark, they still end up with more movies to watch. There are 35 new movies this year for Lifetime, verses 31 for Hallmark.
Lifetime verses Hallmark Christmas Movies
With so many Christmas movies to watch this year, how do you choose which ones to watch. Hallmark may have created the Christmas movie niche, but are they the best? Years ago Hallmark was criticized for not offering diverse stories and casts. The network has worked really hard over the last few years to improve that. But even with those changes, you have to give the edge to Lifetime when it comes to diversity.
Diversity in the movies doesn't just mean the cast. I think another area where Lifetime has an edge is with the variety of settings they use for their movies. Where Hallmark relies on filming its movies in Canada, most of its Christmas movies all seem to revolve around small towns in picturesque winter settings. Lifetime has plenty of those settings for their movies as well. But, they also offer creative and different places like Santa Fe.
Holiday in Santa Fe
One of the best movies in Lifetime's lineup this year is “Holiday in Santa Fe” starring Mario Lopez. One of the things that I really liked about this movie is that it's not your typical setting for a Christmas movie. But, that doesn't make it is any less festive. It's proof that while we may think of ice skating and snow when it comes to Christmas movies, those chilly temps aren't what melts our hearts. It's having a story that tugs at our heart, and characters who make us feel the Christmas spirit. And with “Holiday in Santa Fe”, the Christmas store and family at the heart of the story are what puts us in the holiday spirit.
There certainly are plenty of Lifetime Christmas Movies in 2021. And with a new movie premiering every evening in December, it's easy to get into the spirit of the holiday. So whether you choose to watch one, a dozen, or all 35, may this year's lineup of movies bring you Christmas joy and happiness.
