My Christmas Family Tree is a Hallmark Christmas movie staring Aimee Teegarden, Andrew Walker and James Tupper. It's a story about Vanessa and how she finds her family at Christmastime.

Movie Plot Summary

When Vanessa receives results from a Family Tree DNA test, she learns that she has a paternal match. She reaches out to her biological father to introduce herself and he invites her to spend the holiday with his family in Connecticut. Andrew Walker plays Kristopher, a family friend who gives Vanessa a ride to their house.

My Christmas Family Tree Review

This is a fun movie with great chemistry between Aimee and Andrew's characters. Plus, great chemistry between Aimee and James as newfound father and daughter. If you are a huge Andrew Walker fan you know that his movies are usually a hit. But, you may be a bit disappointed because in this movie I feel that he plays a secondary role. The first love story per se, is between Vanessa and her new family. As an only child whose Mother has passed away, she craves family. For her to find a loving family with three half-siblings, that is the real love story in this movie.

My Christmas Family Tree Review

My Christmas Family Tree is a nice addition to the Hallmark Christmas library and one that I wouldn't mind watching again. Like most Hallmark movies there are some scenes that made me cringe and of course some things that aren't realistic, but all-in-all I enjoyed this movie.

Where this movie shines is with the actors and their chemistry. I don't like to share too much of the plot because I don't want to give anything away, but let's just say that there are some bumps along the way. Things don't go exactly as planned for Vanessa and she fears losing her new family. But you now that this is a Hallmark Movie so have no fear. Will Vanessa get a new family and a new love interest? You'll have to tune in to find out.

My Recommendation: Thumbs Up
